W.C.T.U. CONFERENCE.

The W.C.T.U; passed, resolutions strongly protesting against-the-totalisator, and urging that_ no-licenso should.be carried by a baro majority- vote; also recognising, tho faithfulness of the police in discharging their duty under tho Licensing Act, : and' urging tho Alliance to take, action with -'reference to Commissioner Dinnio's letter to tho Licensed Victuallers' Employers • deploring the increase of drinking amongst young men arid women. . : It was resolved that the next conference bo held in Wellington.
