' Shortly after one o'clock this, morning a two-story, house, owned .by. tho Hampstead Town Board, arid occupied by tho Misses Fawcett, was, ..with its , contents, totally destroyed by fire. The fire was dub to tho flame of a : lamp'catching tlie draping in' the hall. The occupants, who had only just time to leave tho premises, were not ablo to savo, any furnituro or personal offects. Tho' Firo Brigade attended, but owing to the defective water supply was unable to render much assistance. The building was insured in the North British office for £250, and the furniture.in the 'Liverpool and London and Globo. for £150. . Dunedln, March 18. An eight-roomed dwelling house at NorthBast Valley, occupied; by Mr. Andis AVickland, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning. The parents wero absent, and the house' was in charge of three daughters. The building was- insured for £200, and the furniture for £100, in the London and Lancashire office.
