Sir,—l. q-mte agree''wth the writer's remarks in letter entitled " Danger," ! which appeared in to-day's issue of The Dominion'.; Now, seeing that thti Premier and the Hon. Hall-Jones have/ stated that our railways compare'favourably with. the best in . the •world (save the mark!), I think it is high timo that there were: reserved carriages for ladies, as I consider that apartments should; be'set apart for women and small children. It must be uncomfortable for mothers with iiifants travelling with mixed company.' 1 , Surely. Now Zealand, which is supposed (a lead the' world in most matters, should not-bo behind Vic toria in this respect. There' carriages are reserved for ladies. Out Government provides accommodation for the* smokers. OiYhy hoi for tho women? seeing they are on.equal.footing with tho men in having the franchise, which privilege, they do not" enjoy in: the' State otVictoria.—-I am, etc., '»•« . PATER.
