It'appears that he-fouild'a pieco of tin about an inch long, and, in the presence of other prisoners, in a desperate manner,, drew it across, his throat, inflicting a severe gash. Medical aid was-summoned, but it.was found that the injuries wore siioh as to cause no danger. Tho matter' was brought up on the opening of the Court, and tlio Judgo remanded prisoner for a, woek,,also giving instructions to llavO him mentally i oxamined. - KICKED BY A HORSE. On Monday morning an accident occurred at tho Hutt, by which Mr. J. G. M. Heaton, oldest son of tho lata, Mr.. A. ,-M.--Hoatdh,-. C.E., received injuries which resulted in' his dftath early, yostorday morning. Mr.' Heaton was "breaking in" a young horso to the plough, and the animal kiokod him on the tomplo, inflicting sorious injury.
