M'Laren, secretary of the Wellington Wharf Labourers' Union, when seen last night by a Dominion reporter, was not prepared to express any opinion on the Sydnoy wharf strike. He. said that it was not likely to have any great effect-in New Zealand. The Wellington Wharf Labourers' Union is not affiliated, with any organisation:" on tho other side." Mr. M'Laron mentioned that one cause of dissatisfaction among the Sydnoy wharf workers was tho establishment of a freo labour bureau, to which the men were obliged to contribute by' moans of weekly deductions, from, thoir .earnings.
