In the Houso of Commons, Mr. Birroll, Chief' Secretary' for Ireland, ', speaking in connection with tho Glouahira outrage, declared that Inspector Preston's report of So'ptomber 7 was modified into tho report of September llj because tho law officers found that it oontained, suggestions' and also matters of fact, some of which had occurred boforo he arrived on the scene. The second report was prepared and signed without anybody's interference or suggestion! Mr. 1 Birroll denied that th'o report was altered,-and offered to produco tlie original .first report. 110 added that if both sides wanted a public inquiry regarding tho Glena-
liira outrage, tho last thing tho Government wished to do was to conceal anything or keep anything back-. Mr. John lledmond, ' Leador of tho Nationalist party, gavo notice of a motion in favour of a publio inquiry into the matter.
Irish mombors and tho Unionists'support the demand that Inspector Preston's report of tho 7th should bo issued. That report states that whoover exploded the, bomb did not intend to kill Lord Ashtown or seriously damago tho houso.
