Chrlstohuroh, March; 12. ■ •••'At'- yesterday's, meeting of the Education Board ono of the members drow attention to the fact that\ 21 Auckland scholars had passed'the Board's scholarship examinations, whilo ■ only-' three North■ .'.Canterbury pupils had been successful. This was due. to the ago limit in Auckland being. 14 years, whilst in North Canterbury it was only 13 years in tho big schools. -He was not in favour of extending the limit to-14 years. The brilliant scholar; had no trouble in passing' tho sixth standard at. the age of 12. There was no necessity to raise the limit.
