FUNERAL OF MR. C. R. BENBOW.
Tha funeral of the lato Mr. C.'R. Benbo-v, at th'e Karori Cemetery yesterday morni'V, was very; largely attended. '-.Mr." E. 'Hammond .(manager); and all' the local staff of the South' British. Insurance Company, wero present, as - were also' the heads' of' alltlie insurance offices in the city.,. Those attending included Messrs.; J. S. Jarmeson (President I'iro Underwriters' Association), D. A; Abercrombie (President Marine Underwriters' Association), C. A. Esyen (President Accidtnt Underwriters' 'Association). The insurance companies wero represented by Messrs. W. Gil], J. J. Mallard, C. M.'Montefioro, A. E." Kornot, and R. Povvnall. Mr/H: M. Lyon (Secretary, of the Fire Underwriters' . Association)- also attended., Lovin and, Co., Ltd., of which .firm* the • late Mr. Benbow was formerly an employeo, was represented by 'Messrs. J. Duncan, G. Pearce, and otlic.s; Tho Taranaki 'Street Mothodist Church sent Messrs.- H. Brittain, W. E. :Redstoiio,"and H. Crump. Among tlie otliors'present Mr. A. ;I. Littlejohn (Wellington Chess Club), IV. B. Sharp and C. W.' Tanner (Wellington' Chess Association), R. ~T: Barnes and I'. ,K. Kelling (South Wellington Club). Tho South British. Insurance Company's staff further honoured the momory of "their late chief by sending a large' and beautiful wreath. Floral t-ribiitos were also sent by tho South Wellington Club, tho Chess Cluli, and many: others. The chiof mourners were Mr. Charles Bonbow, of Now Plymouth (spiv of the.deceased), Mr. Fred Prince (son-in-law), and Mr. W. Prince. The remains of tho, deceased wero .buried besido those, of his wife.ii)' the family plot.. The Rev. H. B. Redstono was tho officiating minister.
