Mr. Georgo H'Nab, of Wellington, has invontod au ingenious contrivance . for tho gradual tilting of beer or other casks. ' This is a steel rod or bar held vertically in a standard, and resting upon'a spring which takes . tho weight of' tho cask. ( Tho cask, which rests on a spiked plate attached to tho top of tho rod, is gradually liy ! tho upward pressuro of tho spring, as tho contents of the cask aro drawn off, which automatic and gradual process' is said to provont any possibility of tho last few gallons being cloudy. Besides this, the cask-tiltor can bo so. adjusted as to effectually drain tho cask instead of a gallon or, so being thrown away. Tho appliance has also been adapted for counter purposes.
