' ' Chrlstchurch, March 9. Norton Hall appeared at the ' Lyttclton Police Court this. morning charged with 011 March '7' attempting to, murder Alexander James Muir. He-was further charged with resisting arrest by attempting to fire a'revolver at • Constable •' Moriarty. On the application' of .tho police, Ball was remanded until March 16.
. There ,is very little chango in tho condition of the wounded man,; whoso chances of recovery are; regarded as unfavourable. He is still lying on the couch in a room' 1 at Clark's boardinghouse, where tho shooting took, place. _He ■ passed - a fairly good night" arid seemed somewhat brighter and more cheerful to-day. '
