FIRE AT PAHIATUA.

A serious, fire occurred this morning, when a portion of Taylor and Gfirdwood's stable was destroyed;- The fu-o was first iibticed at a quarter to four, wluui tho whole building was in flames from end to end.' Tho stables', adjoin the Commercial Hotel, and the alarm' was given ; by tho night' porter there. ' At first there looked to bo every probability of, danger to the hotol, .but the fire brigade was promptly out and got the firo in liand, 'provonting any further possible conflagration.' A landau, two waggonettes,-arid a quantity of feed were destroyed, besides the building being. completely gutted. Fortunately no' horScs .wbro' in at the time. The' insurance on tho building , was £200. in'the Commercial offiooj and there was £700 on tho stock and plant in the Northern office.'
