League, a-body of which little has hitherto 'been heard.'-' But now, reorganised from top to bottom, the leaguo is preparing to take-a'very prominent position in : all that pertains, to naval.afl'airs'm 1 Austria, anil as a, preliminary,; aii'. extensive..'working : pro-, grammb.has.ibeen. qlaborated. This. lias. been. :.drawn' up .to cover all kinds of sea topics, and to.interest all classes and all..parts of the .Empire..,... v v, -... • .. . !. Publicity., and, education are the keynotes of the league's campaign. The organ of tho Navy League, "The Flag," is to be improved, .enlarged, .and.moro-widely circulated. Illustrated lectures are.to be given throughout,the country, and special lectures will bo provided for schools and young :people. There are also to bo. courses of' an instructive character given in connection'with small naval exhibitions. ,: Efforts,, will also bo made to bring about - closer ! relations between tho country on tho seaboard airl ! tho inland districts.- A- bureau of information' is 'to 'bo established, covering all subjects connnected with the navy and the sea.
Tho league will also , pay particuar attention to all questions affecting, the-welfare of tho mercantile marine as well as of the navy. Tho personal'welfare of.tho sailors will also receive attention by the organisation of seamon's homes and various other measures of a social character. The , conduct of the league has now been put into-the hands of a board of governors, with Count Thnn-Hoheu-stein at the head., An official in the Ministry of Coinmeroo,. Regierungsrat .Dr. Grunnzl, will carry out tile-practical programme of the league.' ~-'.;
