There was a small•.attendance of members., : p ' ; : The secretary (Mr. Janes'- Fanning); read a letter from tho "Wellington -Education Board with reference tori/the'i- situation created' by the resignatidn'/ofiCaptain Erskfne, of 'the Terrace . Public:! School Cadets: The letter, stated that' tli£ .'Board, was:'considering the qnestiori of 'assuming, control of the. cadet corps in -the i'distriot&J.'iThe letter was received, one member remarking that there' was no reference; to the real point at issue, viz., the acceptaniM. or Otherwise of Captain Erskine's resignation.'' A note from the' secretary'of the New Zealand Educational Institute intimated that the-costs of legal. opiriion.:in,.coi>rie6tion with the Erskine case, amountirig-'tq six guineas, would be paid by the Institute.
