" '' • He had been suffering from'lnsomnia. The late Major Remington was appointed general manager of the Mutual Life Association of Australia lin IBSS. Tho Mutual -Life Association was, established in 18G9, and 'in' 1873 Major Remington became its general secretary. The. deceased gentleman was a prominent Freemason, and was Grand Master,of the craft in Ne'.v South Wales for'four years' in succession, Ibis continuity, of oflico being rare ill Freemasonry. . . Ho was an enthusiastic volunteer, and held the rank of lieutenant-general, retiring ultimately with the rank, of major. Deceased suffered from insomnia, induced, it is thought, by overwork in connection with the arrangements..for tho amalgamation of the Mutual Life Association and the Citizens' Life Association'. , ' ' A Press Association cablegram received from Sydney last night confirmed this view. It also , states that Major Remington's death caused a sensation in business circles. '
