At tho inquest-into the death of H. Johns, who was killed in the Taihape tunnel, a vordict of accidental death was returned. JUMPS DOWN A WELL. (BT TELEGKAI'II— SFECIAI. COItIIKSrONDKNT.) Feilding. February 27. John Hood, late of Lake Wakatipu, committed suicide, at Rangiwaliia yesterday afternoon; by putting a windlass rope round his nock and jumping down a well.; At the inquest a verdict was returned that deceased had committed suicido while temporarily insane.
