It appears in two phases'.' First, there is a. proclamation revoking a former proclamation issued in 1884, prohibiting the imiwrtat ion of apples and pears affected with i ■A econdl i V ' there is an Order in Council prohibiting, from February' 27. the importation of fruit or plants' affected with . Q'seasos except in accordance ' with regulations following The ports of entry Xict l mlk u d 'n 0 ' / uckland - Wellington,, Christchureh, Dunedin and Bluff, and the diseases specified number' 84. lEach shipment of .fruit is required to be S ,Pa,UC i- b y ? c o rt 'ficate, signed by the hippcr, setting forth ' the shipping marks, the number of cases of each class of fruit shipped, under each mark, the- name of tho occupier of the orchard, the locality i and the country or place where such fruit was grown, and- certifying that-no species of fruit fly is, known to exist in or within one mile of the orchard where such fruit was grown; also by a certificate . ; . signed l by an officer of the Department of Agriculture,; or. other. Department 1 performing tho functions. or - duties .relating" to horticulture m tho country or place where such fruit was . grown, , certifying that, suoh fruit is clean' and free from disease, and iliat iio species of fruit fly is known to exist in or within one mile of the'.'orchard whore such fruit is certified by the shipper to have been \ Pr ,? vlded . that, the last-named certincate shall not bo required in the case of bananas or passion .fruit: if the > aforosaid snippor s certificate statc-s .that such fruit was shipped in a green and unripe condition.": • In- regard to plants, an official certificate of fumigation and treatment with- Bordeaux m ' x f turo , required, or an official' certificate or freedom from disease. : \.
