THORNDON DINGHYSAILING CLUB
A race was sailed by the Thorndou Dinghy Sailing Club Inst evening, for three trophies presented bv the Port Nicholson Yacht Club. The- following boats conineledli. Palmer's Zel (scr.), E. Bailey's Thelma (sit.), S. Scott's Eon a (Imin.), J. S. Swan's Blowfly (3min.), B. Stirling's Vera (3min.); and 'V. Moore's Ajax (''"'"very light southerly prevailed, nil tho boats carrying full sail, and at tlio end of the first round the Vera, Blowfly, and .Ajax gave lip, as the wind hud dropped to almost a talm. At this stage, however, a. light northerly sprang up, ennlilin;; Die remaining lliree 1)0!its to finish well within the lime limit. The Tloiia was never bended throughout, and finished first at exactly Shis., followed by the Tliekiin at Slirs. Omiis. Ilftset.. and /el, Slirs. Imin.' The duties of starter, judge, aniMimekeeper were' curried o.ut by Mr. .I'\ M'Keever, who also framed the handicaps.- Next. Saturday the second of a series of three raccs for the championship will. bo sailed.
