MORE MOTIONS BY MR. FLETCHER; Mr. R. Fletcher has given notice to niove at the special meeting of tho Harbour. Board, to' be held on Monday ' " (1) That the' secretary .bo instructed to ascertain from the contractors ior .the dock, and report to tho Board, whether they are willing to cancel their present contract, and upon what'terms. - •. . " (2) ..As, in the opinion of a. large section lof tho community, it is alleged, that the present site of tho dock at Clyde Quay, owing to its uhsuitability, is likely to. prove a gigantic blunder, tho Board should'at once obtain expert opinions (engineering and nautical) oil' the question, with a view : t.o having the matter fully reported upon at the earliest possible date."
