When the result of the : race .was made: known; and it was learned that tho honours rested with the New. Zea-. landerj the croivd gave vent to their- pent-iip feelings bj;. volley after volley of cheers for the victorious , oarsman. Tho win was ex-. tremely popular, and the public did not have the least hesitation in showing their elation at the success, of , the New Zealander, , ;
