Witli regard to Bishop Uoare's action, it is to be noted that the influence of tho Church against the causes of disorder lias already made itself strongly felt with regard to cattle-driviug. Tho Most Rev. Dr. Ileal.v, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Tuam, canscd a letter to bo read in all tho chapels of the archdiocese some little time ago, urging the peoplo to desist from cattle-driving. This olfenco was rampant in tho district around Tuam, ' and Dr. Healy declares that " such methods of seeking redress arc both illegal-'and immoral, and should be no longer resorltd to." This message was announced from every altar, and the priests in communicating it also strongly condemned tho practice, and implored tho people to givo up such dangerous folly. • . .
