Several Australians arrived yesterday to view the contest-; including two Sydney pressmem Neilson, t-lie Sydney sculler, will- arrive oil Monday. 1 There is nothing sensational to report regarding tho champion and his challenger. Trcsidder never docs trials over the full course, contenting himself with mile flutters against the watch. Ho is said to have' put up some good times. Ho did a two milo and a half row yesterday at a pretty fast pace. ■' • Webb, likewise, has done no trials over the, full course yet, but yesterday lie did a ! remarkably fast sprint over a mile. Ho gavo Green (who is showing vast improvement) a couplo of lengths' start, and after a splendid exhibition of sculling got to the end. of a mile with a couple of lengths' advantage.. ■ The weathciv continues very fine, and both' men are in excellent health.
