In t tho prosecution of Mrs. Robinson, a witness in tho Druco case, for porjury, Sir Charles Matthews, at Bow Strcot, submitted further evidence confirming previous cablegrams concerning Mrs. Robinson's antecedents in England and New Zealand. Tho documents showed that slib received £500 from two insurance companies in settle- 1 merit of losses, stated at £2300, through the burning of her residence at Now Brighton, New Zealand. , Correspondence and cablegrams produced showed that tho Druce company accopted lior overtures to be a witness, paid her passage money to London, and promised her remuneration in tho ovent of success. A mass of publications was seized in Mrs. Robinson's lodgings, relating to the Duko of Portland, Welbeck Abbey, Charles Dickons, and the histcry of tho Dnico base. Passages in those publications were marked. There were also copies of letters purporting to bo from the lato fifth Duko of Portland to Mrs. llobinson, indicating that sho was his much-beloved mistress. Inspector Drow stated lhat ho found a draft of Mrs. Robinson's evidence, stating that tho Duko of Portland gavo her £5000 in notes in 1576, also othor money. Sho had sinco confossed that tho Portland letters wore her concoctions, and that tho evidence sho had given in tho box was false. Sho claimed to have recoived another letter, purporting to bo from Charles Dickons, written to warn, hor to be tight-fisted and hard as a grindstone, in order to save a resurrection of tho trouble. The case was adjourned till Monday.
