FIRST DAY'S RESULTS. . (BY' TET.EGRAFII. —FRESS : ASSOCIATION.) ) . . Durraclin, February 19. Tho Dunetlin Jockey Club's Autumn 'Meeting commenced at Wingatui to-day in splendjd weather. The course was in good condition, and the attendance was large. The fields were much larger than usual, and somo good racing was witnessed. Tho amount put through tho_ totalisator was £7463' 10s., as against £8271 for the corresponding day of last year. Twenty-two bookmakers paid the fee of £20 for the privilege of bettmg, but several of them gavo up business bofore the close of the racing, and.it is stated that one . departed without settling up with his clients. Lap and was the first to show in front, attended by Speculate'and Jack Ashore; On reaching tho stand Hilarity took a slight lead, and at this point Clanchattan and Notus were last. All along the back Hilarity led, closely followed by Jack Ashore, with Red and Black still holding .his own, and the all m a bunch. Approaching the five furlong mark Notus began his run, and a furlong further Jack Ashore commenced to close on Hilarity. At the distance Clanchattan and Armamento came together from the pack, and -in an interesting 'finish Armamento got home without anv special effort by about a length. Jack Ashore was two lengths further, away, followed by Lapland, Red and Black,- antVHilarity, Notus being last. Time. 2mm. 39sec.
