BENEVOLENT TRUSTEES.
'A meeting of tHe. Trustees of- the Benevolent Institution, was afternoon, the Rev. W. ,A. Evans being; in rthe chair. Other members present were 'Mrs.' Dar'vall, Messrs. F. 6. Bolton; : R. Smith,' D. : Robertson,' H. Cook, and A. C. Pearce. Mr. F. G. Bolton announced that he had ■just; paid, a surprise visit to .tho'Ohiro Home, , aridhe expressed himself as yerv well pleased ■with the management; arid conditions' of the Institution.' : r ; The; secretary stated ■ that tho number l of inmates at tho Home was-101—G8 males and ■ S3 females. • ' ..' The - Finance; Committee's roport recommended that accounts: amounting, to ,£253 6s. '2d. be, passed;'for, pajniient, and that tho requisition,..from tho Charitable Aid Board for the year 1908-9 be JMOOO. The report was adopted. • A letter was received from Mr. F. do J. Clere concerning ,'defective drainago at the Ohiro Home.' Mr. Clere, is making 6omc alterations at. the Home,' arid, while opening' up the ground;-exposed some pipes, the joints of which were leaky. He had remedied this defect, and BUggested that nil the drains should be" tested and -put'in'order. .The Board instructed the oecretaryi (Mr. A. 11. Truebridge) to -prepare a report'ras to the.:condition of the drains . in. general. ■ Applications for relief were then dealt with.
