THE COST, OF IMPROVEMENTS; (DT TEMOttAM—riIESS ASSOCIATION) Auckland, February 16. Mr."'Hamor, Engineer to tho Auckland Harbour Board, lias. reported that tho cost of.widening the Calliopo Dock; as suggested by tho Board, would bo about £120,000 — nearly as much as a now dock. He thought ho could, deviso a scheme under which, for an: expenditure of £10,000 or £12,000, tho dock could bo altered, so as to accommodate the Corinthic or H.M.S, Powerful. Further consideration of the' matter was left to a special committee.
