—J——:—. A race was got) off on Wednesday evening by tho Thovndon 'Dinghy Sailing Club for a trophy. presented by Mr. W. Moore. The following ooats competedE. Bailey's Thelma (scr.), B. Stirling"? Vera ("Jmin.), L. Sargent's Geo (31-min.), J. J3. Swan's Blowfly (3lmin.), ,T. Scott's Spray (. r »Jmiii;), and AY. Moore's Ajas (Simin.). There was a light easterly blowing, which freshened a little in the second round, and all the boats' carricd full canvas. The limit boat, Ajax, maintained her position in the lead till rounding the last lmov for home,, when she was overtaken by the Oeo' and Spray, the Oeo winning by the narrow margin of Bbcc. Only 18sec. separated the first four boats. The finishing times wereOeo (7hrs. 37mi'n. 58 sse.),' 1; Spray (7hrs. 38min. G sec.), 2; Ajax (7hrs. 3Smin. l]sec.),; Blowflv (7hrs. .TSmiu. •lfeee.), Thelma (Thrs. 3Dmin. 58scc.), and Vera (7hrs. 'lOmin. 56sec.). On Saturday thp second of a series of three races for the championship will be sailed.
