THE COMING CONFERENCE. Several matters rolating to the conference of tho Now Zealand Automobile Association wcro arranged- at- a. special,general meeting of the .Wellington Automobile Club, which was held at the Grand Hotel last night. Mr. A. do B. Brandon, presided, and there wero also present Dr. Gibbs, Messrs. C. H. ..Izard, M.l'., G. Shirtcliffo, J. H. Owen, H;'. Leicester, and C. M. Banks (secretary). The president (Hon. T. W. Hislop) and secretary wero'' appointod delegates to the. conference, which will bo hold m one of tho committee-rooms at tho Town Hall on Friday, Fobruary 21. It was also resolved: — " (a) That tho Club entertain tho delegates to tho forthcoming conference at a dinnor on Fobruary 21, ancT tako them for a run on Saturday afternoon, February 22; (b) that tho duties of tho .secretary of the New Zealand Automobile Association begin as from Fobruary 1." Final arrangements for tho run have yet to bo made, but it was docided last night that Upper Hutt should bo the terminus. It is oxpected -that about twenty delegates from different parts of the Dominion will attond tho conference! Ono day, or a day and. a half, is expected to. bo sufficient for the business. A constitution and rules for the Association will bo.submitted, and several mattors of intorcst to motorists will bo disoussed. Mr._H. F. Allen is tho secretary. A change in tho constitution of tho Wellington Automobilo Club was also effcctod at last night's meeting by passing tho following resolution: — "That the committco bo increased from five to nine, and that tho officers,, oxcept tho secretary and tho treasurer, ccaso to bo ex officio members of the committee, provided that an officor shall bo eligible for election as a member of tho committee." 1 •
