"It is reported here." writes tho Wairarapa correspondent,of the " Waikato Argus," " tiiat several Manawatu farmers liavo made up their minds to quit Now Zealand for tho land? along the border line of Queensland and Now South Wales." Some of tliesq, residents, so the report states, have been over to Australia spying out the land. ... Othors havo already mado their purchases and are now "packing up" to leavo tho Manawatu. Their reasons for leaving the Dominion aro, they state,- tho Labour conditions and tho high price of land. Tho aggregate capital of these intending emigrants is estimated to bo £220,000.
