CONGREGATIONAL UNION.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The Council of the New Zealand Congregational Union will commence its annual session in the Wellington Terrace church this morning.': There will bo a meeting of the committeo at 10 a.m., devotional meeting, conducted hy "the Rev. "\V. Day, at 11 a.m.,' and meeting for Council business at noon. At the evening meeting, which will commence at 7.30, the president, the Rev. D. Hird, M.A., Christchurch, will deliver the annual address. THE PROGRAMME. To-morrow, at .10.30 a.m., there will bo a conference on the London Missionary Society. In the evening ho held a home mission meeting, at which the Revs. C. E. Davidson (Kawhia), R. Mitchell (Te ICuiti), and J. H. Mackenzio (Maungataroto) will be the speakers. . On Friday night there will be a young people's meeting,' at'which addresses will be given by tho Rev. W. M. Grant (Port Chalmers), and Rev. J3. L. Thomas (Nelsqn). \On Monday, at 10.30, , the Rev. R. M'Naughten (Napier) will introduce a discussion ,on ""What is the greatest need of tho Church?" In the evening will bo : held a conference on modern methods of Sunday, school work, at which' Mr. G. Hogben, M.A., Inspector-General of Schools, and Mr. W. Gray, M.A., Principal of the Wellington Training College, will speak. On Tuesday night there will be another public meeting. ; These will be the most outstanding features of the session from the public's point of view, but "a considerable programme of hard business has also to be dealt with. The Council will also consider the" appointment of delegates to the International Congregational Council, to bo held in Edinburgh next July. THE DELEGATES.
