A display of sub-tropical and other fruits grown; in the'open air of this warm, sheltered spot is'being made by Mr. .T. Byron' Brown in a window on Lnmbton Quay,- just below;.- Kelburne: Avenue, and yesterday attracted much attention. Large well-ma-tured 'citronsaiid shaddocks,. ripe, yellow lemons and-oranges,-juicy -Japanese plums, apples, in advance of the season, large and ruddy French artichokes, and .'fine leaves of-Turkish tobacco' were displayed, all of which had been grown outside-at Olaki.ii'Cape gooseberries were also shown, which had been gathered wild. An auction salo of Otaki sections will be held in the .Chamber-of Commerce on .February 12.. and a fine sample of oats was exhibited, which had been grown: on two-of tho sections. Air.
