Murray, Roberts and.Co. report: We sub- ■ mitted a catalogue of 2800 sheepskins^Boo hides, and -10 casks of tallow. The market for sheepskins showed a much easier • tone throughout, consequent on tho sharp • drop reported from London; sinco onr last sale, and tho bidding for all lots was lifeless. Sound lots, on'the'other hand, elicited fairly, strong • competition.. Prices may bo quoted a halfpenny for sound pelted woolled crossbreds, and a penny; for short woolled; inferior,'arid dam- ' aged skins, lower than our last sale. Our . offering of hides comprised many lots of . superior condition, and for all these the market showed animation, prices being about a farthing pcr'lb. better than last sale. ' Damaged and faulty hides, on the ■ other band, were not so well sought after. Calfskins were almost unsaleable, except at a much lower, range of prices. - The offerings, however, in' this line were of a very inferior sort. Tallow was steady at about last sale's rates.
