The office-hearers and oxecutivo officers were re-elected.' Mr. R; Crawley was elected. bandmaster for the third year in succession.. Mr. H. Madsen secretary, and Mr. K Hall sergeant. It was decided to devote Dr. Johnston's donation to a prize for best attendance and musical progress. ■ Tho combined picnic of St. Mark's Sunday school and tho Parkvale branch was held yesterday in Mr,/Dellcr's bush at Parkvale, and under the. assiduous caro of Mrs. Wakelin and her ready teachors, crowds of briglitfacod children are running races and playing games, despite the broiling suu and burnt-up pastures. '! .• _ Very little interest was shown in the- polling for tho loan, for street improvement. Tho increased valuation of all town properties is, perhaps, responsible.' The loan was carried, tho voting being: For, 64; against, Mastcrton and Carterton, Bowling Clubs will moot in. friendly competition .on, the Carterton green, and a -keen'' - contest'is looked forward to.
