SHEARERS' DEMANDS

DATE OF THE CONFERENCE. [by TELEOnArn,—own coiihespondent.] Palmcrston North, January 30. A representative meeting of sheep-owners was hold here to-day, owners being present from Hawke's Bay, Wanganui, jVlasterton, Foilding, South Wairarapa, Hunterville, Marton, and other localities. Tho object was to fix the date for the conference between sheep-owners and shearers,, and to consider opinions and resolutions received from various, meetings. Mr. J. G. Wilson was in the chair. The counter-proposals were considered, and a ease for them was drawn up. Delegates were appointed to the conference with the shearers, which it was proposed to bold on Tuesday, February 4.
