DINGHY SAILING.
A raco was sailed last evening by the Thorndon Dinghy Club' for a trophy presented by i Owing to' the shortage of crews onl.v four boats competed. There was a sriuallv nor'-oast wind blowing, with a: nasty choppy sea.,;'. The handicap were;—li. .Bailer's f ielrnn (scr.); Ji. Stiiling's Vera f2Jmin.); A. Aldred's frex (2(nlin.), and L. Saruent's Oeo (3rnin.). On the first leg to windward, (he Vera replaced the ° lending boat, Oeo, and maintained her lend throughout. Tho Oen finished a good second, followed bv the Thelien and Ires in that order. Mr. T. Willason acted as starter, judge, and timekeeper, and also framed tho handicaps. Next Sat.tlnl.l7 the First Championship Race (which was declared ■ void when first sailed) will be re-sailed.
