It was- resolved: "That all. the .members of tho Council wait upon the!Hutt-.County.Coun-cil at its nest meeting to .negotiate for . the use of an office and Board room in tho Hutt County Council's building, and to discuss the amount of refund .of rates for the current year." .It was pointed oiit that■ the Porirua and Makara Ridings. had contributed about <£2000 to tho cost of the office building, but owing' to the terms oil lfhich the • property was held they could not '.expect to; obtain compensation in money. .. It was also explained that the. new County would take over the funds of the Makara Road Board, which had become merged in the Council, but would have nol funds from, the Porirua. Riding until a; refund was obtained from the Hutt County Council;;.-' ; . . It was resolved to reinstate roadmen.
