The Nelson athletes, H. Cook and 0. iTiomassen, holders of tho present New Zealand championships for hurdle racing and woight-putting, have pilt in appearance with :tho view .of defending their titles. Bust, tho Southland Centre's representatives, arrived yesterday, and, with .Harry Kerr, holder of the New Zealand one wile walking record, were exercising on the Basin Reserve last evening. Advice has been received that tho Canterbury team, consisting of H. A.' Murray {440 yards hurdlo champion) and C. L. Orboll (high jump champion), tof ether with P. -H. Stubborfield (walker), loore (distance runner), and W. C. Do Theirs (weight putter) will nrrivo to-day. Tho Ottigo toam are duo to-morrow, as are tho A ticklanders—"VV. 11. Madill (ex champion, and laiidors—W. H. Madill (ex-champion, and holder of the Now Zealand hammer-throwing jecord), E. M'Kay (polo jumper), and S. J. Large entries have been received for the Civil Service Club's coming meeting, to bo held on tho Basin Reserve this evening. Several representatives from the South, who are ' competing at Saturday's championships, will take part, and some interesting racing should bo witnessed.
