WELLINGTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES
.A meeting of the AYellington Hospital Trustees was held at the Town Hall yesterday morning. Present—The lion. C. M. Lukei M.L.C. (chairman), Messrs. R. C ; Kirk, ■G. Lundon, 1 J. Danks, George Nasli, W. H. Hales, A. C. Pearcc, F. .0. Bolton. The Chairman thanked the members for again showing their confidence in' him by choosing, him to preside over their deliberations for another yciir. If ho was unable to attend somo of the meetings, ho 'was sure the Trustees would extend to him that consideration which they had always shown in the past. The secretary reported that there are 111 males and 62 female patients in the institution—a total of 193. On the same date hist year .178 patients were receiving treatment. In the Victoria Hospital there are 1)7 patients, and in the Seddon Hospital 20—a grand total of 250. A total of 111 out-patients are receiving treatment.' The financial ■ statement showed a balance of JEB2S 9s, lid. The Mayoress and her committee of lady and gentlemen helpers were accorded a vote of thanks for their valued efforts in collecting a record amount of money on Hospital Saturday and Sunday; and the Wellington Bandsmen's Hospital Sunday Committee was also thankod for their collection of _C(7O. Miss Borry, assistant matron, was granted an additional month's holiday leave. The House Committee recommended: That the now scale of nurses' salaries should not be retrospective, but .should apply to new cases as engaged, Hie old engagements to remain unaffected, and each nurse, as her three years of engagement, expire.*, to be treated as a nurse in her fourth year; under Ihe new scale this arrangement would apply as from the first instant. This recommendation wa» adopted.
