The aged gelding, Snotty, winner of the Takapuna Cup, is one of tho last of. the . St. Lowers. Thi3 is bis eighth season on the racing, track, and lie has been a good st-ako earner in his time, his total winnings amounting to, nearly £500(1. .His most suecessful yoar was in 1004-6, when ho won the Auckland Racing Club Handicap and tho Auckland Easter Handicap, but ho has boon most consistent on tho Takapuna, Club's course, and must havq won nearly every handicap at the Summer' Mooting. IJe Ims made four, attempts on the Takapuna Cup, and this i 3 his second successive win, while in his other attempts ho was placed second and' third. Tho .son of, St. Logor and Janet lifts been iv frequent place-getter, and has run many meritorious seconds to good performers like Nonettc, Quarryman, and Landlock. This season' he ran second to. Uranium in the Arondale Cup and St. Andrew's Handicap (Taknpnna), and second to-Shrapnel in tho Spring Handicap (Takapuna), and this is a real sample of his consistency throughout his career. His price as a yoarling was 205 guineas, but it was not until ho reached tho ago of-five that ho could have been looked upon as a cheap purchase.
