American fashion papers liavo a great deal to say just now about the new Paqum skirts, and it is quite likely that a hot Dattlo will bo waged over the question of their seemliness or otherwise. They were invented in Paris, and, looking at the fashion-plates, one feels that there they should have remained. They are decidedly not suited to Anglo-Saxon ideas of good form. There have been many foolish fashions, but it is to bo doubted whether any have been more fooliih than this of the sheath-like skirt.
