Mist, 1 United States Consul at St. Mare, has been dismissed for alleged complicity in the Haytian revolution. Tho United States secret service, seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition and counterfeit mpnoy intended for the use of Firmin, a Haytian revolutionary leader, and of Jiminoz, a San Domingo revolutionist. Haiti, the second in size and population of the West Indian Islands, is divided into two Negro republics, Sail-Domingo (tho larger half, formerly Spanish) being in tho east, and Haiti (formerly French) in the west. The message would infer that. lx>tli are at present enjoying the customary revolution. Tho United States,. under a treaty with San Domingo, collects the Republic's Customs revenue, assists it to maintain peace, and acts as an intermediary between it and its foreign creditors. ' St. Marc, a city of about 20,000 people, is on the west coast of Haiti, <13 miles from tho capital of that Republic, Port au Prince.
