(nr TEi.EGRArn— special correspondent.) - ' Anniversary Day passed quietly hero.'The onlr attraction was the I'ahiatua Amusement Chili's sports, tho attendance at which was somewhat spoilt by the btish fires in the surrounding districts keeping Inrgij numbers of . farmers on their properties. The day proved- fine, and the meeting was .1 success. The (lead heat for the half-milo bicyclo raco caused tlio most interest during tho day. It was run off again at tho end of tho programme, J.i Miller popularly, winning from S.' l'arlts. Several children's races filled gaps in the'"programme. .
