Pollock .'presiding. On the.'motion .of .Mr. Ileenan it was rceoh'od that the Centre's delegates at the forthcoming Conference of Centres he instructed to point out that nothing seems to have been done with regard to the Centre's recommendation, to the. Council, that Rule G of the rules of'the Australasian A.A. Union, dealing with mail votes, he' altered, "so as to expedite the business :of the Union. It . was-resolved, on the motion of the Chair-, mail,'.that the delegates be .requested to bring before the' Conference the. question of the election "of the Council, and,support a resolution to the effect - thut the president and vicepresidents should be elected from the delegates andnot from outsiders. Mr. Larkin moved, and' ;Jlr. Robinson seconded,, that the delegates bo instructed to point out at tho Conference the unfainiess of thq'.present position whereby the Council receives half the profits in the event of a championship meeting being successful, but' cloe.vnot sharo the loss-when the receipts ■do not meet the expenditure. The motion was carried. . ■•It'.was also, agreed that tho delegates be. .instructed'.to move in the direction of having the joist; used in connection with the long jump, : as a take-off dpnc away with, and a chalk; line substituted. \ AMATEURS ON : PROFESSIONAL BODIES. The Southland Centre requested the Wellingtion . Centre to\ instruct its 'delegates at the forthcoming Conference to support a resolution asking the Council to reconsider its new rule providing that a Centre secretary must not act 'as secretary to ;any sports body controlling .cash .or professional sport, also that no person shall be eligible to represent a club an any i'Centre, whilst holding any .appointment qii'any professional club or association. The writers pointed 'out that the new rule affected"the secretary of their Centre and the secretary of : the Gore Harrier Club, both of whom 'took : a '• keen interest in amateur athletics. '
