Why does clovor. die out? This question is asked by "Hoard's Dairyman," and is answered as follows.: —Red clover is a biennial plant. That is, it requires two years as a rule before it will blossom and produce seed. When it has produced seed, liko all plants of limited life, -it proceeds to die. It has fulfilled its mission. How can it be prevented from producing seed?_ By cutting it much earlier than usual, cutting it when tho blossoms first appear. When handled in that way nature, ever persistent to reproduce, throws up another crop. If that is also cut very early, a third crop will be thrown up. We once saw a field of clover which had been handled in this way for nine years, and tho last year it produced threa to the aero.
