DROWNING ACCIDENT AT LYELIi BAY
Lyell Bay was thc scone of an unfortunate drowning accident ' yesterday.-.morning. A man went out for a swim in the breakers, and subsequently his body was found floating in tlie water and brought ashore. Medical .assistance was immediately summoned, and in tho'. meantime efforts, which proved fruitless', 'were made, to restore animation. .Dr.''Kemp; who was quickly on the scene, found that, life was extinct.. The body was removed:to the Morgue by Constablo Larkin. A Mr. Powriall, who examined a bicycle which was found nearby, recognised : it as one which he repaired in July Inst for a man named J. Clarke, whose address then was " care of Mr. Shine, Miramar." A receipt (for/repairs to a bicycle), round in deceased's clothes, bore the .name '".Clarke." , : .
