The Test match between the. Auckland bowlers and a team representing the New South.Wales Association, was played at Balnnuii, .in line, cool weather. It was a four rink game. The local players had slightly the. better of the first ten, beads, and then the visiting rinks began to assert ; flie'msolves, although it was not till tho'twenticth head that the second rink, skipped by Laurie, got a lend. When ail. but the first rink had finished, the scores stood-; Auckland, 72; New South Wales, '7jj, Attention- then centred on Harrison's rHik, and excitement ran-high'as to whether they could maintain the advantage gained. It was a neck and neck race. First the visitors, then the local men .ware a point down, and again they stood level. This was the position of the total when the last head was entered. Harrison was one behind. Ho had an admirable opponent in Strong, but the Auckhmder's coolness won him the game.
