FEILDING LAND SALE.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, and Gorton and Son report having held a most successful land sale in tho Drill Hall, Peilding, on Saturday last, when they submitted the woll-known Makenui and Wharokoa estates at public auction. Mr. Norman Gorton wielded the hammer, and a most successful sale resulted. The fact that it was being sold by the original owners caused buyers to show a good deal id' oonfidence, and nehrlv every section of Makenui was sold at auction, the few lots passed being immediately disposed of after. The Makenui Estate averaged JE2H Is. per acre. Of the six sections of Whare.koa one was sold, and the aucticuecrn expect to place the other five very shortly.
