Books by American professors, dealing scientifically, with stock-breeding, (vool-grow-ing, etc.? —"The ■ Farmer's Cyclopedia of Agriculture" (by''E. V. Wilcox, ■' Ph.D., and C. B. Smith, M.S., Associate Editors in the oliice of experiment • stations,.-'of U.S.A.), contains a gooU chapter on live stock. Itmay be examined in tho Public Library, and purchased from local booksellers. "Animal Breeding" and '"The. Study of Breeds" (by Thomas Shaw, Professor of Animal Husbandry at the University of Minnesota), and a book by a practical farmer named Stewart on "Sheep Farming," might also meet your requirements. All these works are published by the Orange Judd Company, of New York. For something technical and highly concentrated, you might get a sample copy of the "Experiment Station Record," obtainable for ten cents from the Superintendent, of Documents, Washington, U.S.A., or through a local bookseller. It contains monthly the cssence of the reports of the experiment stations of the world. 2.
