' " POLLARD'S JUVENILE. OPERA fCO. ' Pollard's : Juvenile Opera Company, which played such a successful, season in Wellington last month, will pay a return visit with-a. repertoire of comic i operas. The company nrrivo *'rom tho North by the express tonight, and will inaugurate their season at tho Opera House on Saturday. night in .the brilliant musical play, "Ilis Highness. the Bey." ';'his piece created, a very good ini* pression when produced on the occasion'of the company's last visit, and all over -the Dominion has shared the honours of public commendation with "Bluebell, in. Fairyland.". It had to be reluctantly withdrawn in the midst of its success during the company's last visit owing to tl.eir departure for Auckland. The management have decided to open their season with uiis clever piece, in order to give their country patrons and those-who missed seeing the juveniles' bright performance an opportunity to do so. But, as it is the intention of the management to produce several musical comedies during their short season, "His Highness tho Bey" can bo produced for' three nights only, and ' will then/mako way for "Bluebell in -Fairyland." All the old faces and some new ones will be seen in the production, and the ballets will now be under the direction of Mrs. Harry Quealey. The fact that-Madame'Clara Butt, England's celebrated contralto, will make her Wellington debut at the Town ltnll orr Tuesday evening next, will {,'ivo lasting interest to- a- concert at which Jlr. Kennerley. Kuniford and ; othei artists, newly arrived from Europe,, will alsc appear. Owing to the exceedingly limited timt at the disposal of these two great; singers, il h not possible for them to remain long in out centre, and as only two concerts will be giver here, music lovers will no doubt attend it force.
