TEACHERS' SUPERANNUATION BOARD.
<f — ' ■ Tho quarterly meeting of the Teachers' ' Superannuation Board was held yesterday. Tho Prime Minister, Sir J. G. Ward, prosided in tho absence'of'tho Minister-for Education, Hon. G. Fowlds, and there were also present Mr. J. W. Poynton (Public Trustee), Dr. Fitchott (Solicitor-Gcneral), Messrs. G.' Hogben (Inspector General of Schools), Nowton (Prosidont, Ne;v' Zealand Educational Institute), W. T. Grundy, and William Foster (North Island teachers' representatives), Davidson (South Island tcachcrs 1 rnSresontative), and the Secretary (Colonel ollins, of the Treasury' Department). ; Consideration was given to several cases of pensions to contributors .who had reached the ago for retirement, y and also to cases of allowances to widows. Applications from certain contributors who, having left tho service, desired a refund, were also considered. Tho financial statement for tho quarter ending December 31 showed the lict accumulations for that period to havo been £0000. The balance now standing to -tho credit of tho fund is £55,000. The number of contributors to the fund is now nearly 3000. ' | 1
