;Ch;irles "Crichton,- tlm young fellow'wlio was injured at Levin, is_ progressing favour-' ably'at the Otaki Hospital, and Dr. Huthwaito has hopes of saving the arm; although badlj' broken and torn. There-are at present only 20 patients .it tlio Sanatorium. The fcnialo ward at tho hospital is .also very ■ empty. The men's ward, howeyer, is fairly full. Mr. Ayre, who had the misfortune to have his les brokon somo time ago, is still''in the institution, but is able to/get about a little with tho aid of crutches. He exfiects; to be discharged l before the end of tho month. Of tho' four ' candidates who ' presented themselves for tho ambulance examination three passed, viz., Mossrs. Fai-inor, Cook, and Giles. Mr. -M. O'Brien, Health Inspector, sta ; tionod. at Feilding, was on a visit to Otaki yesterday in connection with scarlet fever OASOo •
